In less than an hour, your passport can be renewed mate! As the DFA rolls out passport renewal for seafarers and OFWs using OFW courtesy lanes. This lane is dedicated to all returning OFWs who wish to renew their passport.

Kind reminder though, you may want to renew your passport about a year in advance before it expires. Some crewing agency require this to avoid problems in some countries where you might be joining the ship.

Requirements for Passport Renewal:

Returning seafarers who wish to use these lanes are very much welcome. Just make sure to bring the following:

What to do?

Depending on your chosen DFA consular office, you may proceed to the information window or via the security guards or aide. The process starts there.

But normally, it will start from the security guard or aide. They’ll ask you if you have an appointment or if you are an OFW. Tell them you’re an OFW wishing to renew your passport.

Afterwards, you will then be given an application form for renewal. In some offices, they might have this form in one of their releasing or processing windows.

Next, fill up the form completely as applicable and prepare your requirements. You will then proceed to the evaluation window for the evaluation of your documents.

After evaluating your documents, you will now be instructed to pay for your transaction.

How much is passport renewal?

Regular processing costs P 950 for 12 days releasing. While expedite processing costs P 1,200 for 6-7 days releasing.
