Seafarer’s Registration Certificate (SRC) can now be created online. This gives so much relief to my fellow seafarers whom we all know are busy people even if having their so called “vacation”. As being done online, this Certificate will replace the old card we had. Noticeably when you get promoted, you will also have to change the rank on your certificate which could be a hassle. But not anymore, the new SRC today can be created, updated online, anywhere, anytime.
With this new process of SRC, it gives us the flexibility and convenience and more importantly, save us time, money and effort.
STEPS
- Go to poea.gov.ph
2. Scroll down the page, under Online Services, click Online Registration for Seafarers.
3. You will be redirected to another page that looks like this.
Click Create Account if you want to change or update your old SRC to new one or its your first time to get this document.
4. Fill up necessary information.

6. Remember the number provided for this will be used for your next log in. You can now Print your SRC.
If you click the Continue button, you can update your information there, add trainings, sea service record, etc. Its better also to update such information just in case you might need it in the future.
A very simple tutorial and should not cost you anything. its is for free. In case you dont have printer, you can save the PDF copy of the document and then print it to your nearest internet station.
Remember, this document is different from SRN. SRN is for MARINA permanent number while SRC is for POEA. Since we are also an OFW, that’s why we have this registration from POEA.
