How to get NBI Clearance online?

As part of Anti-Red tape and modernization efforts from the government, NBI clearances now involves online data entry from the applicant. Filipino citizens always need this NBI clearance for various purposes like local employment, examination requirements, etc. For us seafarers, we need this NBI clearance when:

  1. New/Renewal of Seaman’s book
  2. Exam requirement
  3. Company requirement

For you to avoid hassle and extra fee payment offered by other people to register your application online, follow this relatively simple steps.

Get your NBI Clearance Online…

Step 1. Go to www.nbi.gov.ph, click CLICK HERE button and you will be redirected to the NBI Clearance Application page.

Step 2. At this stage, lets assume you do not have NBI clearance yet so we will apply under NEW APPLICANT. Choose NO in the question DO YOU HAVE AN OLD NBI CLEARANCE?

Step 3. Register the data needed in the registration new account field. Do not forget to click Accept Terms of Service. Click Agree.

Step 4. Then click Sign Up button.

This will appear, just click YES if all the information is correct.

Step 5. Go back to nbi-clearance.com, this time, log on to your newly created account. Provide the email address you gave in Step 3, registration page and click Sign In button.

Step 6. Check and complete the Applicant Information page. Then click Save Information.

Step 7. Click Apply for Clearance button.

Step 8. You will be asked for an Identification document. Please bring this to the NBI Office on your appearance. Click I Agree.

Step 9-10. Choose your convenient NBI Office, date and time. Different branches have different schedules. For this, we chose ARCENAS CEBU NBI OFFICE.

Step 11: In the PURPOSE field, choose ABROAD. Then PURPOSE DETAIL, choose VISA SEAMAN.

Your payment options…

Step 12. Choose what type of Payment options you prefer: Bank Over the Counter, Online Bank, Mobile Payment, Bayad Center, MultiPay, ECPay and 7-Eleven Stores.

You will then have a reference number that will be used for your payment when you go to Transactions in the Upper left side of the screen.

Step 13. After you select your mode of payment, you will be emailed with the instructions regarding on how to complete the payment transaction. For this example, we used Mobile Payment via BPI. This is what i received via email. Click the link below for for the complete instructions.

Step 14. Follow the instructions provided when you click the link. Once you finished paying, you will receive a confirmation email.

Step 15. After the NBI has confirmed your payment, the Transaction tab will look like this. Click DETAILS.

Step 15. You can print the application form and bring to the NBI office on your day of appearance. I prefer to print the form just to be sure.

Step 16. Go to the NBI Office on your day and time of application. Go to Help Desk just right at the entrance to have your queue number.

Step 17. After providing your photo and fingerprint, the NBI database will scan thier records and will determine if you are a HIT or NO HIT.

Step 18. Once HIT, you can have the option to have your clearance dilivered right into your home or you can pick up at the NBI office at the designated date they provide you (Normally, 1-2 weeks). If NO HIT, you can have your NBI Clearance in about 10-20 mins of waiting.
